10yr old 16.2hh bay roan mare by Weiti Handy Andy out of a Valiant/ Witzbold mare
Whirly’s story so far, sold to a friend as a young horse Whirl spent two years mainly treking including going on some big multi day treks in large groups. Her owner decided she needed a smaller model for her pleasure riding persuits and Whirl came into jumping work with us in summer 2016. Whirl excelled at this as she had as a youngster, and attended a couple of summer shows, jumping very well. She came in sore behind one day after slipping in the paddock, was scanned and had a damaged ligament which required some months off to fully heal. We decided to put Whirl in foal for this time but she sadly slipped twins a few weeks ago. And here she is now! I climbed on her last week after 1.5 years off and she felt as good as ever! She is sound as can be and looking gorgeous.
A bit about Whirly. Whirl is a darling, she is good to handle and adores human attention, easy to truck, catch, drench, teeth etc. Her previous owner had some trouble with shoeing her but we had her hot shod several times last summer with so problems.
She is a forward ride but has a superb mouth, soft and responsive with three big, beautiful paces, AMAZING canter. I had a lesson with Bill Noble on her last year and he thought she was wasted on jumping! Loved her.
Whirl has always been an amazingly brave and straight forward jumper, very natural, does not rush but NO spook and plenty of scope. Any jump or event rider would love the feel she gives. Schholed to 1.25m at home (in grids not a full course) and competed 1.05m.
Whirl is out if work, I hopped on once to check she was sound and happy but she is not in work! I wish wish wish we had time to bring her in properly but we are swamped with youngsters, client bookings and the season starting. We would keep her as a broodmare but our herd is already too full and her sire is one of our two stallions which limits her live cover options.
Very well built, clean legs with good bone and sensational quality feet, rock hard and beuatifully shaped.
$2,500 + GST to the right home, its insanely cheap for this lovely mare but we just don’t have the time for her. Someone who does will adore her, she is all class. Bring her in for yourself for any sport, produce her for a year and have a 15k horse or breed from her.
Not available to try under saddle as she is out of work (though I guini pigged last week and she was awesome, not going to be hard to bring in!), welcome to come and meet her and see her move loose etc.
